OOCL Fleet Awarded for Outstanding Performance

We are pleased to announce that OOCL has been awarded the ‘Outstanding performance in the Port State Control inspection results’ for Hong Kong registered ships in the year 2013 by the Marine Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government (HKSARG) and Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA).

Port State Control (PSC), as specified by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), is ‘the inspection of foreign ships in national ports to verify that the condition of the ship and its equipment comply with the requirements of international regulations and that the ship is manned and operated in compliance with these rules.

The honor was presented to OOCL at a special awards event jointly organized by the HKSARG and HKSAO on April 28, 2014.

Mr. S C Tai, General Manager of Fleet Management cum Technical Director of OOCL represented the company to receive the award from Dr. Christine Loh, OBE, JP, Under Secretary for the Environment of the HKSARG in front of more than 120 representatives from the shipping industry.
