I joined OOCL in 2008 as a graduate trainee and I always love the experience of job rotation in various departments including customer service, marine operations, equipment flow, and reefer trade.  Even after I completed the trainee program, I continued to find many learning opportunities.  Recently, I had an amazing opportunity to go on board our vessel to experience the life at sea with the captain and the crew.  I also gained hands-on experience in both vessel and terminal operations.

What I truly like about OOCL is its global diversity.  In May 2014, I attended the company’s International Executive Development Program (IEDP) with colleagues from many countries around the world.  In spite of our different backgrounds, this program brought us together for cross-functional discussions as well as team building activities.  Other than gaining business knowledge from different departments, I also had some multicultural exposure.

Starting October 2014, I am appointed Deputy Manager of Network Control Center which is set up to enhance transshipment reliability and schedule integrity.  I am happy to be working in a place where I can create values for our customers and strive for the best quality – and this is what I believe what excellence really means.
