Bottle Seals Mandatory for India
Local News

Dear Customer,

Would like to remind that bottle seals are mandatory for all laden shipments into India. This is as per the local Custom’s law and very strictly monitored by all Gateway Terminals. A recent study at Nhava Sheva showed that most shipments that arrived at Nhava Sheva without seals were on INDAMEX service.

The result of such cases leads to delay of container movement since bottle seal has to be affixed at destination terminal and only then will the container be allowed to be moved to the Custom’s bonded final delivery point (CFS).  This means additional cost to the shipping line and utlimately to customer.

Besides this  there is a chance that Indian Customs demand for an  manifest amendment leading to cost and time.
