This is the bring to your kind notice about the current situation at the PORT, the congestion line had almost reached Punjab CFS from GTI.
To give you more update about the congestion: Mainly due to few reasons:
1) Recently GTI had installed new Camera system to survey the container for Gate in purpose. The said system started from last week & the impact of this system is that the time taken to do Survey at gate has increased. Every vehicle that reaches the gate takes more than 8-10 minutes to pass the gate. Due to which, today’s scenario at the Gate in , is that acontainer takes more than 24hrsto go in.
2) Almost every day on GTI gate only 1 person is handling 2 lanes, due to which there is slow down of work & add to more congestion.
3) RTO has also banned to carry 2x 20’ containers on one single vehicle due to weight restriction
Due to this congestion there has been a lot of delay for the shunting of Import Containers from Port to CFS, which has further impacted the truck turnaround time
