The below proposed plan is now kept on hold temporarily till 31st MARCH, 2014 due to certain constraints beyond control and to enable the Trade to fulfill their EXIM volume commitments in the current financial year itself.

The revised plan in respect of the same will be communicated in due course of time. Inconvenience caused is regretted.

As per today's update from JNPT, the proposed RMQC installation has been postponed until further notice.

According to a trade notice issued  by Chief Manager Traffic of JNPT, JNPT is replacing the existing three old RMQCs with new three Super Post Panamax RMQCs at Main Container Berth and shifting these old RMQCs from Main Container Berth to shallow berth at JNPCT in the month of March/April 2014.

During the installation/ commissioning of these new RMQCs alongside Main Container Berth and mechanization of Shallow Draft Berth, the normal operation alongside Main Container Berth is likely to get hampered between 17th March to 30th April 2014. The Shallow Draft Berth will also be closed partially from 1st March  to 30th April 2014 for which a separate trade notice will be issued by 15th February 2014.

According to the trade notice, JN Port has requested both NSICT and GTI to handle 22 vessels which JNPCT cannot handle during the commissioning period of RMQC. Accordingly, the concerned Agencies have been requested to approach NSICT and GTI for necessary arrangements. For any reason, if the handling of vessel is not possible at NSICT or GTI, the concerned Agency have been advised to make adequate arrangement including the opting of using Vallarpadam Terminal for transshipment in light of relaxation in Cabotage and/or transshipment of Export Import cargo from/to nearby Terminals like Mundra, Pipavav, Hazira etc depending on the voyage route. The Entire set of cranes expected to be available for operations with effect from 1st of May 2014, as per sources.
