Local News

Dear Customer,

Further to our previous Customer Advisory, we would like to update the latest announcement from Pipavav terminal on the resumption of rail traffic is as follows:

·       Subsequent to our last advisory notifying commencement of rail operations on 11th Jul 2015, we withdraw the force majeure condition at Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd. effective 12th July 2015.

·       Following from the withdrawal of force majeure condition, the interim suspension on storage for ICD Import containers from 24th June 2015 is also withdrawn effective 12th July 2015.

·       On 12th July we handled 8 Trains and our current ICD Import backlog is 11,706 TEUs.

·       ICD Import backlog in no. of TEU’s to all ICD’s are under control, except ICD Tughlakabad which is higher than normal at 5,844 TEUs

·       Repopulating the rail pipeline with sufficient trains is our no. 1 priority – we are in touch with rail operators to divert as many trains as possible, this is expected to take between 2 and 3 days to normalize.

·       We also seek your support in directing your ICD exports via PPV, this will help populate the rail pipeline and enable back loading the trains with ICD Import containers.
