OOCL Enhances Feeder Network

We are pleased to announce the following service enhancements;

1. On April 5th, the M/S Harlingen was chartered in for a period of 12 months. She is replacing the smaller and slower M/S Elisabeth. Operating on the UK Express (UKX) service with a fixed day of the week port rotation of Southampton (Sat/Sun), Hull (Tue/Wed), Grangemouth (Thu), then back to Southampton (Sat/Sun).
The additional space capacity and faster service speed will ensure we are able to cater for increased demand, as well as better maintain schedule integrity, and enhance connectivity with OOCL deep sea services in and out of Southampton.

2. We are also pleased to announce that from the 16th of April, OOCL and X-Press Container Lines entered into an agreement to operate the M/S Euphoria linking the ports of Southampton (Tue/Wed), Dublin (Fri), Belfast (Sat), Greenock (Sun) and returning to Southampton (Tue/Wed).
This follows a successful two month trial period and will ensure cargo in and out of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Western Scotland are connected in a timely and orderly manner to our deep-sea network. The service will be coded / named SIX. Cargo to/from Cork will continue to be fed to one of our hub ports in Continental Europe.

We have made these enhancements to offer our customers;
• A fast & reliable connection to/from our deep sea services,
• A secured supply of empty equipment as and where needed,
• An unmatched service offering for Scotland covering both coasts,
• Alternative routings in case of emergency,
• And for export customers we can apply Southampton export documentation cut-off times for advanced manifest submissions rather than some of the restrictions imposed by/when moving via continental ports.

Should you have any questions pertaining to this notice, please do not hesitate to contact your OOCL Area Sales Manager or local Customer Service Centre.
